They're delicious on their own, but they're also a great accompaniment to any home-made Indian dish.



  • 1/4 tsp mild chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder
  • 3 large onions, sliced
  • 1 tsp cumin, ground
  • 100g chickpea flour
  • 1 tsp tomato puree
  • 1/2 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp oil



  1. Heat the oil in a pan and add the finely sliced onions and turmeric
  2. Cook on a low heat for ten minutes until the onions soften
  3. Transfer to a large mixing bowl and add all the other dry ingredients - mix well
  4. In a small bowl, mix together tomato puree and water
  5. Then add to the bowl of onions and mix well
  6. Preheat the oven to 180'C/Gas mark 4
  7. On a greased baking tray, place a tablespoon of the mixture
  8. Flatten down slightly using the back of the spoon
  9. Repeat with the rest of the mixture
  10. Cook in the oven for around 15 minutes. Enjoy your cooking!
